IMS bearing, RMS, and crankshaft seal work on M96/M97-engined Porsches is well within the capability of competent enthusiasts and independent workshops, provided the correct tooling is used. Having to spend a lot of money on tooling for a one-off job however puts many people off. 

This combination of German and British made tools will allow the confident home mechanic or professional to remove and replace the IMS bearing, install a new RMS, and install a new (pulley end) crankshaft seal. 

Includes the following essential tools:

The IMS tool set  covers the tools required for the quick and safe removal of the IMS bearing (two different methods), as well as camshaft and crankshaft locking tools, and detailed instructions. It also includes the factory tool needed to correctly torque the bearing after installation, and works with all brands of IMS bearing replacement.

The RMS tool makes installing the latest version easy, guaranteeing correct alignment and installation depth, while the crank pulley seal tool is a must for correctly replacing this critical oil seal.

Rental Period: The standard rental period is 21 days from delivery, allowing three weekends (and plenty of weeknights) to undertake the work. If you think you`ll need longer - please reach out.

Refundable Bond: A separate refundable $350 bond will be automatically added at checkout. This will be refunded promptly once the kit is received complete and in good condition.

Shipping: Tracked outbound courier within New Zealand is included, with return shipping your responsibility. Reach out if you`d like us to arrange a prepaid return label.

• Rental equipment must be returned clean and complete, including any documentation and/or consumables
• Damage caused by misuse may incur replacement or repair costs

• Valid contact and shipping details are required for all rental orders - this may include a copy of your Drivers Licence or similar (just like Hirequip)
